CIUDAD PRÓXIMA. 3rd BIAU Workshop at La Casa Encendida

Madrid · 31/03/2011

On 12, 13 and 14 April 2011, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, La Casa Encendida will host the 3rd BIAU Workshop Ciudad Próxima, directed by Luis Moreno Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón Álvarez.

The workshop is framed within the theme of the 7th Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, focused on citizen integration and on urban experiences that are opening up new ways of transforming the city from what is close, everyday and possible.

Ciudad Próxima proposes looking at the city from a nearby scale. Not only from the distance of urban planning, but through the relationships, uses, practices and forms of civic commitment that already exist within neighbourhoods. The aim is to identify what is already present in the urban ecosystem and has the potential to activate new ways of caring for, claiming and transforming the city.

The practical work developed during the workshop will take video format and will be shared on YouTube under the title VII BIAU CIUDAD PRÓXIMA.

The lecture programme will include Andrés Jaque on Tuesday 12 April, Luis Úrculo Cámara on Wednesday 13 April and Zuloark on Thursday 14 April.

Venue: La Casa Encendida, Ronda de Valencia, 2. Madrid.
