The Declaration arrives at eme3 festival’s Share-it space

Here we go to eme3.

We are happy — very happy — to bring the Universal Declaration of Urban Rights to eme3 and to share space in Share-it with projects by friends, allies and fellow travellers. This gathering will be a new opportunity to open up the project, test it in conversation with other practices and take another step in its development.

From 7 to 9 October 2010, eme3 brings together thinkers, artists, students and professionals from architecture and other fields to reflect on, experiment with and discuss the new scenarios that have emerged after the crisis. The festival operates like an architectural market, bringing together installations, urban projects, workshops, lectures, debates, street events, music and films over three days.

In this context, Urban Rights feels right at home. The Declaration emerges precisely from the need to expand the field of action of architecture: to understand it not only as the design and construction of buildings, but also as a tool for producing spaces of encounter, discussion, participation and civic transformation.

Soon we will share a first online test version of the project. eme3 will be a good place to present it, listen, adjust and continue building, collectively, an open declaration on urban rights.
